The DiGiglia Report™

On-Shore Environmental & Safety Law

Environmental and Safety Law (and closely related law) is the only practice area upon which J. Mike DiGiglia

In case you are wondering, it’s pronounced “di-JILL-ia”.

focuses. Unlike most attorneys you will encounter, he has prior hands-on, “real-world” experience in environmental and safety regulatory law working in industries such as the petrochemical industry, petroleum refineries, the hazardous waste industry, the hazardous material transportation industry, environmental consulting and engineering firms and the US Government. As a result, J. Mike DiGiglia has an unparalleled knowledge base and breadth of experience in regulatory compliance, enforcement proceedings, permitting, toxic torts, oilfield legacy and environmental (civil and criminal) litigation.

Off-Shore Environmental & Safety Law

The above focus on Environmental and Safety Law (and closely related law) as a practice area also includes Safety and Environmental Management Systems (SEMS) regulations operations on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS), which is administered by the Bureau of Safety, Environment and Enforcement (BSEE). Unlike most attorneys you will encounter, J. Mike DiGiglia also has prior hands-on, “real-world” experience working both in off-shore and on-shore drilling operations. A relatively new area of environmental and safety law, the SEMS regulations incorporate by reference and makes mandatory API RP 75, in addition to other more stringent regulatory requirements, as a nontraditional, performance-focused tool for integrating and managing Off-Shore E&P operations. The proposed SEMS II regulations will also be a part of this practice area.

One-Stop for Environmental and Safety Needs

J. Mike DiGiglia’s knowledge base and experience includes a wide range of matters and proceedings before the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Bureau of Safety and Environment Enforcement (BSEE), the US Department of Justice (DOJ), as well as other state agencies and federal agencies.
